**HISTORIC JOINT BETWEEN CINEMOVIDA AND PUERTO RICO COMIC CON:
THE SUPERHERO FEST** IS BORN
San Juan, Puerto Rico — [Thursday, November 13, 2025]
In an unprecedented event for the country’s popular and film culture, CineMovida, the longest-running and most active film collective in Puerto Rico, officially joins Puerto Rico Comic Con, the most important geek event in the Caribbean, to present the Superhéroe Fest, a short film competition dedicated to celebrating Puerto Rican talent in cinema and comics.
The Superhéroe Fest was born as a creative space where two worlds converge: that of Puerto Rican cinema and that of local comic art. The event invites filmmakers, illustrators and artists to adapt Puerto Rican comics to the big screen, highlighting the stories, characters and universes created in Puerto Rico.
Several filmmakers and artists from the country participate in this initiative that seeks to strengthen the links between the audiovisual and the graphic narrative, recognizing the power of comics as a source of inspiration for new generations of filmmakers.
This historic meeting arises thanks to the collaboration between Ricardo Carrión, executive producer of Puerto Rico Comic Con, and Eduardo Rosado, filmmaker and founder of CineMovida, who said:

The Superhéroe Fest will be presented during the next edition of Puerto Rico Comic Con, where the public will be able to enjoy the short films made by experienced and emerging filmmakers who, for the first time, will bring to the big screen stories based on Puerto Rican comics.
In addition, this event is part of the route towards the 130th anniversary of the arrival of cinema in Puerto Rico, a historic celebration that begins in 2026 under the Cinema Puerto Rico initiative, organized by CineMovida together with the Alejandro Tapia y Rivera Institute and other cultural institutions in the country.
The Superhéroe Fest joins this great agenda of activities that seek to honor, rescue and promote the history of Puerto Rican cinema, while driving its evolution towards new forms of art and contemporary expression.

**JUNTE HISTÓRICO ENTRE CINEMOVIDA Y PUERTO RICO COMIC CON:
NACE EL SUPERHÉROE FEST**

En un hecho sin precedentes para la cultura popular y cinematográfica del país, CineMovida, el colectivo de cine más longevo y activo de Puerto Rico, se une oficialmente al Puerto Rico Comic Con, el evento geek más importante del Caribe, para presentar el Superhéroe Fest, una competencia de cortometrajes dedicada a celebrar el talento boricua en el cine y los cómics.
El Superhéroe Fest nace como un espacio creativo donde convergen dos mundos: el del cine puertorriqueño y el del arte de cómic local. El evento invita a cineastas, ilustradores y artistas a adaptar cómics boricuas a la gran pantalla, resaltando las historias, personajes y universos creados en Puerto Rico.
Varios cineastas y artistas del país participan en esta iniciativa que busca fortalecer los lazos entre el audiovisual y la narrativa gráfica, reconociendo el poder del cómic como fuente de inspiración para nuevas generaciones de realizadores.
Este junte histórico surge gracias a la colaboración entre Ricardo Carrión, productor ejecutivo del Puerto Rico Comic Con, y Eduardo Rosado, cineasta y fundador de CineMovida, quien expresó:
“Esta oportunidad otorgada por el Comic Con es un gran paso para abrir brecha y diálogo entre el mundo del cine puertorriqueño y el de los cómics boricuas. Confirma el compromiso del Comic Con con los artistas locales, y lo reafirma como evento líder en el Caribe. El Superhéroe Fest se presentará durante la próxima edición del Puerto Rico Comic Con, donde el público podrá disfrutar de los cortometrajes realizados por cineastas experimentados y emergentes que, por primera vez, llevarán a la pantalla grande historias basadas en cómics puertorriqueños.
Además, este evento forma parte de la ruta hacia los 130 años de la llegada del cine a Puerto Rico, una celebración histórica que comienza en 2026 bajo la iniciativa Cinema Puerto Rico, organizada por CineMovida junto al Instituto Alejandro Tapia y Rivera y otras instituciones culturales del país.
El Superhéroe Fest se suma a esta gran agenda de actividades que buscan honrar, rescatar y promover la historia del cine puertorriqueño, al tiempo que impulsa su evolución hacia nuevas formas de arte y expresión contemporánea.
